Navigation in Complex Biological Environments: Self-Propelled Biocatalytic Micro/Nanomotors

PhD defence, Wednesday 10 April 2024, Nanying Wang

Nanying Wang

During his PhD studies, Nanying Wang delved into exploring the navigation of self-propelled biocatalytic micro/nanomotors in complex biological environment. These micro/nanomotors possess the ability to convert diverse forms of energy into sufficient kinetic energy, enabling them to overcome Brownian motion and achieve self-propulsion. Nanying Wang thoroughly examined the motion characteristics of three different types of micro/nanomotors in various biological environments, along with their potential applications.

The newly obtained research findings significantly contribute to advancing our comprehension of the design and motion characteristics of micro/nano motors. Furthermore, these insights pave the way for exploring their potential applications, particularly in the field of biomedicine.

The PhD study was completed at Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center (iNANO), Faculty of Natural Sciences, Aarhus University.
