Immersive Tutorials
Research area and project description:
We are seeking one or more PhD students to conduct research on immersive interfaces aimed at delivering situated and personalized tutorials. This project investigates how immersive technologies, including Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and view-adaptive instructional media, can provide adaptive, step-by-step guidance for complex tasks.
The project centres around two core challenges:
Depending on each student’s background and interests, research topics can be tailored to focus on either one or both of these challenges. Applicants are invited, but not required, to submit a research proposal as part of their application to describe their interest.
This project offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of XR, Computer Graphics, View Synthesis and Human-Computer Interaction, helping to shape the future of personalized immersive assistance and interactive guidance tools.
The ideal candidates would have the following profile:
Desirably previous experience with or an interest in designing and conducting user studies and empirical research methods.

Qualifications and specific competences:
Applicants must have a degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Computer Engineering or a related field. We are looking for strong applications with a background in Visual Computing, in particular Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, HCI, Computer Graphics and Computer Vision.
