Are you confident in your data analysis? - A critical assessment of data analysis in cancer genomics
PhD defence, Friday, 22 November 2024, Ragnhild Laursen
During her PhD studies, Ragnhild Laursen improved the analysis of mutational counts in cancer tumors. The aim of this analysis is to identify common mutational processes associated with specific cancer types or treatment groups, leading to a deeper understanding of cancer. Ensuring that these identified mutational processes are reliable and robust is essential. Ragnhild Laursen studied the analysis of mutational counts using known statistical principles to create a more adequate analysis of count data.
The new research has contributed with better analyses tools for count data in general, but in particular for the analysis of cancer genomics data.
The PhD study was completed at Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Aarhus University.
