Objectives of the course:

To present and discuss research in infectious diseases and immunity at the highest international level.

 

Learning outcomes and competences:

At the end of the course, the student should be able to:

  • Design and interpretate experiments in the field of infection and immunity.
  • Present experimental data.
  • Participate in high-level discussion of research in this area.

 

Compulsory programme:

Participate in at least 80 % of the announced lectures and the subsequent discussion sessions for PhD students. Individual, oral presentation once a year (see course assessment).

 

Course contents:

Lectures given by internationally recognized researchers.

Discussion session after the lecture for participating students. Active participation in the discussion is required.

 

Prerequisites:

Participating students should be enrolled in a PhD programme in a field related to infection and immunity.

Course assessment:

The course is evaluated once per year with a 15-minute individual oral presentation by each PhD-student. This presentation should be a summary of the lectures that the student finds most interesting, including: why were these particular lectures interesting, what were the novel findings, and how does these relate to their own project.
