If you are going abroad as part of your PhD study, you may be eligible for teaching exemption without reduction in pay. You can either get teaching exemption for a full or a half semester. You apply for teaching exemption by writing an email to your PhD partner at GSST (cc'ing the PhD administrator). Based on the length of your stay, your PhD partner  evaluates how much teaching exemption you are eligible to.
